As I sit back and reflect upon the journey’s of my previous guests, I noticed that they’ve all gone through and overcome a lot of adversity.
Things that would turn most people off from the game.
Long term injuries, being low in the pecking order, favoritism, lack of opportunities, difficulties finding a club, family problems, greedy agents, the professional league going under, and proving yourself an American player abroad to name a few.
All of those circumstances can challenge a player mentally by evoking feelings of uncertainty, hopelessness, frustration, fear, and plenty more
Yet somehow, they’ve found the strength to persevere and continue moving in the right direction.
Everything I just mentioned is all circumstantial, and it can be changed over time. Your perception and reaction to it all is whats most important.
Whether that’s working harder to develop your game, removing toxic people from your life and replacing them with those who share your ambition, or completely reinventing yourself from top to bottom.
You see, you unlock your true power as a human being once you realize that no one has the ability to decide your future but YOU.
The road to success is a bumpy one. Its not easy! its going to challenge you at every turn. There’ll be moments when your moving at break neck speed and steadily progressing, moments when things are slow enough to cause concern, and then you’ll have those other moments when you’re almost at a complete stand still.
the key thing here is to keep your head up throughout those tough moments, despite how dire things may seem to be.
Rarely do things work out the first, second, and or even the third time around.
Whatever obstacle you’re facing, My advice to you is, keep your head up. Put one foot in front of the other. Fail fast, and fail often. The solution to your problem is out there. You may not see it now, but it’s there. You’ll inevitably stumble across it.
